Luck Asks for Directions
An argument at a crossroads, inspired by Beckett's "Waiting for Godot."
I recently found myself at a crossroads in the gardens of Versailles, quite alone save for the friend I walked with. The broad lanes around us stretched far and away, maybe all the way to unknown lands. Here was a great setting for a story!
When
announced this month’s theme, I placed a bubble at the crossroads, and Luck Asks for Directions was born. I’m honored to share that it was selected as the Editor’s Pick for the BULLE / BUBBLE edition.I read this piece live at Les Cassettes in December, and got to borrow the voices of Elsa Dupuy d’Angeac, Francesca Lowney-Piazza, and Nina Cherifi. —We were going Somewhere, of course.
—No, I’m sure we were going Elsewhere.
